Our Story
The Creek Cafe was a big vision project that took more than a year to complete and opened in September 2011. A group of passionate students, their faculty adviser, and community members worked long hours to remodel the building housing the business. The business is privately-owned and operated for-profit. Our hope is that we will enjoy the food and atmosphere and so that this business and others will thrive and help the revitalization efforts in downtown Jefferson City, Tennessee. We strive also to operate a customer-friendly setting driven by Christian business principles.

The Buildings
The Creek Cafe operates in a historic building constructed in 1931. In remodeling the building, every effort was made to retain as much of the original structure as possible. You will notice immediately that the original tin-tiled ceiling remains, as well as the hardwood floors. All exterior walls were preserved, and the only new walls are those for the new handicap-accessible restrooms. Previously, the building has been known to house a radio station upstairs and more recently, a print shop downstairs. The transformation is still amazes us when we look back on the condition of the building prior to remodeling.
An expansion opportunity became available with the purchase of the old Tallent Drug Store adjacent to The Creek Cafe. This space is called the Creekside Room, providing space for large groups and concerts. |
