O U R S T O R Y 2019+
In the summer of 2019 Spencer and Libby were approached by Jamison and Lesley Price along with Ben and Amanda Young about purchasing ownership of The Creek. Spencer and Libby felt that it was time to pass the vision on to the next group that would carry it forward with the same passion and conviction they began the project with. In November of 2019, the Prices and the Youngs took over and The Creek Downtown was born. The new model has brought with it aesthetic updates to the space, a new menu concept, longer operating hours, and many other things that offer guests a fresh, energized, and amazing experience.
Jamison and Lesley have been involved in the Jefferson City community throughout their entire lives. They are both alumni of Carson-Newman University, they currently own another business (Mossy Creek Fitness) in downtown Jefferson City, and they even lived in the loft apartment above The Creek when they were first married. Their passion is to see life and energy brought back to the downtown Jefferson City community.
Ben and Amanda are also Carson-Newman University alumni. They bring to the table culinary expertise and years of kitchen management experience. They will be managing The Creek Downtown and bringing a new energy and focus to things.
Their desire is to see The Creek Downtown filled with family, old and new friends, and people who will become like family as they gather over amazing food and coffee.
O U R S T O R Y 2011-2019
The Creek Cafe was a big vision project that took more than a year to complete and opened in September 2011. A group of passionate students, their faculty adviser, and community members worked long hours to remodel the building housing the business. The business is privately-owned and operated for-profit. Our hope is that we will enjoy the food and atmosphere and so that this business and others will thrive and help the revitalization efforts in downtown Jefferson City, Tennessee. We strive also to operate a customer-friendly setting driven by Christian business principles.

The Creek Cafe operates in a historic building constructed in 1931. In remodeling the building, every effort was made to retain as much of the original structure as possible. You will notice immediately that the original tin-tiled ceiling remains, as well as the hardwood floors. All exterior walls were preserved, and the only new walls are those for the new handicap-accessible restrooms. Previously, the building has been known to house a radio station upstairs and more recently, a print shop downstairs. The transformation is still amazes us when we look back on the condition of the building prior to remodeling.
An expansion opportunity became available with the purchase of the old Tallent Drug Store adjacent to The Creek Cafe. This space is called the Creekside Room, providing space for large groups and concerts.
